with matters now in great flux
yesterdays location of cekdiq which i so recently described here as
somewhere west of kirkuk
has already been blown far to the south from there
& is now effectively somewhere east of tikrit or samarra & collapsing
further toward baghdad it seems
as baghdad forces have been routed by the sunni caliphate repeatedly
southward
which essentially leaves the left bank of the entire upper tigris all to
the kurds
who are taking full advantage by filling the vacuum produced by the
contraction & retreat of the baghdad forces
while feigning to help baghdad stop the caliphate forces
but so far avoiding any actual contact with them

things are now looking starkly sunni shia kurd

starkly sunni shia kurd Which it will be recalled is the solution
suggested by many wise folks 10 years ago. All that has come in the
meantime, besides killing and wounding countless thousands of people and
traumatizing their country and ours too and burning up a trillion dollars,
has accomplished little except ensuring that the Sunni element of this
partition will be aggressively jihadist, which need not have happened.

well i dont disagree
but overnight the trijunction continued even farther south before the sunni
advance reportedly stalled out around alduloyia
on the left bank of the tigris about 30mi north of baghdad
opposite shia forces which had rallied somewhat & were holding balad on the
right bank very near there
while the kurdish advance had reportedly stalled out around jalula
or about 40 miles northeast of baghdad

so split the difference & call the trijunction or balance point about 35mi
nne of baghdad
but call it alphabetically ceiqkd rather than cekdiq
oops
