the revision of the primary subdivisional structure of the congo democratic
republic from 11 to 26 provincial level entities which has been in the
works since 2006 finally appears to be taking real effect now

resulting in the addition of 23 new internal tripoints within a revised
grand total of 33
as well as the transformation of 9 of the 10 preexisting ones

only the tripoint of maniema province with north & south kivu aka cd2mnnksk
remains unchanged

so maybe it is more a question of when to celebrate this last old tripoint
still standing
or whether the changes will save the congo from cracking up entirely
