the following link claims pix of all 276 mxus markers are now being
presented at a university museum exhibition & symposium in texas

this is remarkable because other collectors have previously tried
unsuccessfully to bag them all
& it is a credible claim because the highest number in the series is 258
& a few extras such as 84a 85a 142a 204a etc are also known to exist
which could well bring the total amount to 276 as claimed
reaching most of them involved climbing to rugged & remote ridge lines
since they are generally intervisible
but for a sense of the difficulty of travel throughout the area enjoy this
golden oldie

which shows among others number 40
situated at the turnpoint of the newmexico boot heel
the only known marked tripoints occur at numbers 40 & 71
both of which we have previously seen here

similarly thorough marker collections have been posted for a few state
lines in the usa
likewise several european borders such as esfr & the benelux borders have
previously been collected exhaustively online
save for a few elusive rocks in each series that were never recovered
but this mxus collection may prove to be the only truly comprehensive
international one ever assembled
