& now includes the new russian or novorussian coastal salient
the map still indicates a few small donetsk republic outliers adjoining the
luhansk republic in the now unitary & fully contiguous rebel held area
but the new russian salient in the south appears as a separate front & a
separate territory
in view of all these changes in the situation on the ground
& rather than maintaining distinctions without differences
it now seems appropriate to drop the individual donetsk & luhansk digraphs
dn & lh in favor of a combined novorossiya digraph
the most mnemonic available being nv
accordingly
the present trijunctions are of novorossiya with russia & rump ukraine
are only 3 in number
& might be called nvruuan nvruuas & nvruuaw respectively
or else nvruua1 nvruua2 & nvruua3
reading from northeast to southwest
they occur in the locations where the bold green ruua borders meet the bold
red nvru borders in the main map
or at the red tan & yellow tricolor points on the circular inset map
& again
these may well prove to be as ephemeral & evanescent as all the previously
observed tripoints have proved to be
but the probability & hope of a frozen conflict only grows with every
passing day of stalemate
so if we stay tuned we may be lucky enough to witness the birth of durable
tripoints at or near the present locations
